The Build-out of Area E – 2nd Floor shell space for “Transplant”, encompasses the Kidney and Liver Clinic and the Kidney/Liver/Pancreas/Lung Transplant Programs. This new centralized location for all outpatient transplant ambulatory care, adjacent to the new Transplant SL office (Area E Room 2400), will improve the efficiency for evaluation and post-transplant care, increase the visibility of Transplant services within the facility, and allow further potential for increased patient care. Build-out includes:
- Full clinical module plus another half module. The clinical layout is anticipated to stay within the established clinical module for Area E. This will include a support space, similar to typical clinic support spaces, and a small lab space within the central core area.
- The finish of the clinical spaces will match the other clinical spaces in Area E. The consult rooms will be finished with carpeting instead of sheet flooring.
Exam Rooms
The new Transplant Clinic includes 34 new pre and post-transplant exam rooms that are an extension of existing outpatient clinical space and are part of a universal design developed for the original Acute Care Hospital.
Exam / Infusion Rooms
The new Transplant Clinic also includes four new dual-purpose exam/infusion rooms that have a nurse station direction across and with visual control of each room so that a patient can be observed from a central location.
Nurse Station/Huddle/Exam Rooms
The new Transplant Clinic continues with the “center stage” design concept to efficiently place space serving doctors, nurses, and patients adjacent to each other to maximize visual connections and workflow.
Nurse Station/Huddle/Exam Rooms
The new Transplant Clinic has a large nursing and support staff to better serve the needs for patient care and physician assistance. The clinic is designed to accommodate the increased staff size and needs by providing ample room for workstations at a sitting and standing height desk accessed from both sides of the counter. This also facilitates staff communication that needs to occur throughout the work day.
