The Ivory Coast Temple is located in the coastal city of Abidjan, in the Cocody district. It is a one-story building designed with a clean, modern aesthetic punctuated throughout by richly detailed elements. A single slender tower over the entrance rises to 25 meters (85 feet) and is topped with a silver-leafed statue of the Angel Moroni.
The design of the building is based on the Mid-Century Modern style and is richly decorated around the doors, windows, and cornices. The designs of these elements call back to early geometric patterns used in Mid-Century designs and are reminiscent of African tribal decoration. The building is symmetrical and simple in massing and proportion. The exterior is finished in lime plaster over concrete blocks, bronze-colored doors and windows, and art glass. The corners of the building are detailed simply, and the recessed cornice is articulated with a gentle raking texture.
