
Presentation on the Philadelphia Temple
FFKR Principal Roger P. Jackson, FAIA and Senior Associate Arrin Holt, AIA participated in a presentation and panel discussion about the Philadelphia temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The presentation was at the 12th annual Design on the Delaware Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, November 13th 2014. The title of the presentation was “Building a 19th Century Façade in the 21st Century”. From the conference program, the discussion used “… the experience of designing and building this façade as a vehicle to explore the evolution in masonry construction technology between the late 19th Century and the early 21st Century.” The conference also included a site visit to see the building and the ornately carved stone façade in construction. Other participants included the project structural engineer, the exterior envelope consultant, and the stone subcontractor.
