The Fort Hall Casino located in Fort Hall, Idaho is a 70,000 square foot addition to the existing 164,000 square foot 156 room Hotel and Convention Center built in 2010. The Casino connects to the west side of the existing hotel. The Casino includes a porte-cochere, a parking lot, site work including an access road, casino floor, back of house gaming operations, food service with a buffet and restaurant, renovation of the existing Deli to 24/7 food service, and a feature bar.
Center Feature and Sun Fixture Elements
The cultural committee went through an extensive design process for the central feature and other interior finishes. The design captures the culture of the community. Specific colors and patterns were implemented into the lighting piece designs to create an exciting and active gaming area, and emphasize the idea of a sun pattern, which was a part of the original Hotel design. Imagery that is important to the history and landscape of the area will be installed as wall coverings at the back of the cashier counters. The custom wall border at the top of the perimeter wall was actually created by a cut out from a tribal elder, showing typical colors and repetitive patterns that are found historically in tribal artwork.
Stampede Lounge Entrance
The Lounge entrance opens to the rest of the floor; only a screen separates the two spaces. The screen was selected by the cultural committee. It has a natural wood color and pattern against the stone columns.
Stampede Lounge
Warm materials and textures create a comfortable setting at the main lounge and bar area. The blue tile wall carries the concept of water to the inside of the building and creates reflection and color within the space. Several screens and comfortable seating options are scattered throughout.
Casino Entrance
The exterior design for the main entrance of the building fits well with the existing Hotel. Materials, parapets, and overhangs tie the two buildings together. The ‘light box’ guides patrons to the main entrance and provides a hint to the significance of water to the Shoshone-Bannock culture.
